The Evaluation

Treatment of your condition starts with a comprehensive evaluation by one of our therapist.

You may be asked questions such as:
  • How did your symptoms begin?
  • Where are your symptoms located?
  • What makes your symptoms worse?
  • What makes your symptoms better?
Based on your responses, your therapist is guided to what test and measurements need to be performed.

This may include any of the following:
  • Structure/Posture Analysis
  • Range of motion measurements
  • Manual muscle testing
  • Flexibility
  • Functional movement patterns
  • Balance
Assessment is ongoing throughout your treatment to ensure your goals are being addressed.

The Treatment

Based on findings from your evaluation, your therapist will design a treatment plan individualized to your needs.  Our approach is multi-faceted and may include one or more of the following:
Manual Therapy: A hands on treatment approach to improve body alignment and movements.
Exercise: Programs are designed to address deficits in strength, range of motion, balance, flexibility, and endurance.  Emphasis is on proper form and technique to achieve the desired outcome. At your request we will coordinate with another fitness professional.
Balance Training: Work to improve balance and reduce risk of falls.
Ergonomic education: Learn to perform daily activities such as getting out of bed or lifting a box with reduced risk of injury.
Gait Training: Improve safety and correct movement dysfunction that may lead to symptoms.
Modalities: Help to reduce pain, to gain flexibility or to promote increased circulation for soft tissue healing.
Orthotic casting and selection: Due to structural changes, the foot needs help to minimize compensations and reduce overuse injuries in other areas of the body.

Work Services

A Job Analysis is performed by our trained staff and defines specific physical requirements for a job and maps a course of testing to measure a job candidate's ability to meet the job requirements. It may be used for some or all of the following:
  • Identification of issues for ergonomic intervention and injury prevention.
  • To provide written support for essential job functions when making hiring decisions.

Pre-Work Screening and Functional Capacity Evaluations save you time and frustration by providing a tool to assess job readiness through a physical test designed to measure the worker's abilities then match those abilities to the specific tasks of a certain job thereby reducing risk of injury.
Our therapists are certified to perform the Isernhagen Work Systems Functional Capacity Evaluation.

Work conditioning is vital training that helps prepare your employee for the physical demands of specific on-the-job tasks while avoiding harmful movement patterns.  Our program consists of education, exercise and work specific activities to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, and motor control.
